Onboarding for Kai's Clan

Please check if the robots have been charged. Pull out the little plastic sleeve protecting the battery. There is a yellow 4:1 charging cable. Plug each robot in at the back, make sure they are switched off and they should take about an hour to charge. Their headlights will flash purple and beep once charged. Don’t charge them on a computer that is not a strong charge, so plug the charging cable into the wall; that is a much better charge. You can charge all 4 robots at once like this.

Stick one QR code on each roof rack of the robot with the same circular number on the back of the robot. This will be that robot’s unique id number.

Please download on your phone or a phone that you can use for Kai’s Clan the Kai’s Robot Tracker. The app is free on both Play and IOS stores

Please make sure you have space where you are setting up. You will need to be able to walk around the mat.

Then go to your computer, and register your teacher account at https://app.kaisclan.com this is not the website it’s a separate URL for the Blockly Kai’s Clan.

You can go ahead and scan the serial number on the box and calibrate the mat.

You should be ready now to pair the robots.

Open up Kai’s Eye on the phone, choose the Home button, switch on the robot, and place the phone near the QR code. Flashing lights, same as headlight colors, will appear. Allocate and save the number of the robot (QR code) on the phone. Grippers will close, which means the robots are paired.

Once robots are paired, and classroom code scanned, you are ready to go onto the mat. Place one robot in the middle of the mat and switch the app to robot tracker mode.

You will see your mat come up on the mat view on your computer with robots showing. Add the other robots.

You are ready to get coding, load avatars, and just have fun.
